67-9-1 - Appointment — Powers.
67-9-1(1) The state auditor, the state treasurer, the attorney general, and the superintendent of public instruction may each appoint a deputy, who may, during the absence or disability of the principal, perform all the duties pertaining to the office, except those required of the principal as a member of any board. 67-9-1(2) The principal shall be answerable for the neglect or misconduct in office of the principal’s deputy, and may require the deputy to obtain crime insurance. 67-9-1(3) The principal:shall, if the principal appoints a deputy:make the appointment in writing; and file the written appointment with the lieutenant governor;may revoke the appointment of the principal’s deputy, at will, in writing; andshall, if the principal revokes appointment of a deputy, file the written revocation with the lieutenant governor.
67-9-2 - Crime insurance.
Where a deputy of any state officer is required to obtain crime insurance, the state shall pay the premium.
